Pre-Trip Thoughts

The Global Scavenger Hunt is where travel around the world to 10 different countries. You don't know which countries till right before you go or how you are getting there. You must plan how to get to different countries and be creative. You also must plan out your scavenges in each country to try to get the most points to win. My older sister, Sydney, went on the trip when she was also in 9th grade and she won. This makes me feel pressured to win but I plan to enjoy this as much as possible and explore as much as possible. Which is my biggest dream, to travel and explore the world. I have been told that much of the adventure and fun is the unknown whether it's what scavenge to do next or where you are going. Unfortunately, before I embark on this scavenger hunt I have to make sure I don't fall behind on school work. For math, I must do enough math sets to last me a month. For science, ELA and IHSS, I will work with the teachers to modify the final projects to make it possible for me to finish before the trip. As well as leaving school I am also leaving my friends. They have been very supportive and excited for me. They always ask where I would be going and I always respond with "I have no idea." When they ask how the trip works I just say its a huge scavenger hunt to learn about the culture and the people of different countries. I am so excited for this adventure and even though I would love to win, my first priority is to have fun and explore and learn as much as possible. And most importantly have cool stories that make me look totally awesome to amaze my friends and family.
